Guar gum prices on Wednesday climbed Rs 96 to Rs 6,249 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators widened their holdings driven by firm trend at spot market.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for March delivery traded higher 1.5 per cent, or Rs 96, to Rs 6,249 per five quintal with an open interest of 14,665 lots.
Likewise, the contracts for April delivery was trading up by Rs 91, or 1.46 per cent, to Rs 6,325 per five quintal as open interest stood at 44,155 lots.
Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to rise in guar gum prices.
