Guar gum prices moved down by Rs 130 to Rs 8,051 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators preferred to off-load positions amid a weak trend at the spot markets due to low domestic and export demand.
Marketmen said cutting down of positions by participants, driven by weak domestic and export demand at the physical market, mainly led to the decline in guar gum prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for delivery in October drifted lower by Rs 130, or 1.59 per cent, to Rs 8,051 per quintal, with an open interest of 42,865 lots.
The delivery for the November too eased by Rs 108, or 1.30 per cent, to Rs 8,170 per quintal, in an open interest of 2,535 lots.
