Guar gum futures remain lower on persistent selling

Guar gum prices dropped for the third straight day adding another loss of Rs 65 to Rs 8,020 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators continually liquidated their exposures in tandem with weak physical as well as global markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum delivery for most active April contract slide further by Rs 65, or 0.80 per cent to Rs 8,020 per quintal, with an open interest of 48,430 lots.
Similarly, the delivery for second contract May moved down further by Rs 56, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 8,157 per quintal, having an open interest of 17,500 lots.
Market players said a weak trend at the domestic physical markets due to lower export demand along adequate stocks position following constant arrivals from growing regions mainly hold prices in negative territory for the third consecutive day in future trade.
