Guar gum prices dropped down by Rs 32 to Rs 6,649 per quintal in futures trading today on profit-booking by operators amid weakening export demand.
Marketmen said apart from profit booking by speculators, increased arrivals of guar seed in spot markets amid falling export demand, mainly pulled down guar gum futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange counter, guar gum for delivery in current month declined by Rs 32 or 0.37 per cent to Rs 8,649 per quintal, with an open interest of 16,955 lots.
The most-traded delivery in January also went down by Rs 30 or 0.34 per cent to Rs 8,772 per quintal, in an open interest of 61,690 lots.
