Guar seed prices looked down by Rs 26.50 to Rs 4,208.50 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators cut holdings, tracking weak physical market cues.
Market players said cutting down of bets by traders in line with subdued physical markets due to increased arrivals from producing belts amid limited offtake by guar gum makers led to the fall in guar seed futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, guar seed delivery in June contracts fell by Rs 26.50, or 0.63 per cent, to Rs 4,208.50 per quintal with an open interest of 38,300 lots.
The delivery of May contracts also dropped by Rs 15, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 4,163 per quintal with an open interest of 1,19,810 lots.
