Marketmen said persistent supplies from growing regions, sparked by slackened buying by guargum makers in spot markets, mainly brought down the guargum prices.
Furthermore, rising inventories and sluggish export demand weighed on prices, they added.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange platform, guargum prices for most-active delivery in October dipped by Rs 90, or 1.13 per cent to Rs 7,880 per quintal, open interest was standing at 17,335 lots.
