Guargum prices tumbled almost 4 per cent to hit lower limit at Rs 10,440 per quintal in futures trade today as participants indulged in reducing exposures on weak global cues.
Further, subdued demand at the physical market also weighed on the sentiments.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum for delivery in July contracts plummeted by Rs 430, or 3.96 per cent to hit lower circuit at Rs 10,440 per quintal, with an open interest of 9,957 lots.
Guargum for delivery in October dived Rs 450, or 3.93 per cent to Rs 11,000 per quintal, with an open interest of 11,710 lots.
Fall in guargum futures prices is attributed to weak global cues and low demand at the domestic market against increased arrivals from growing regions.
