Marketmen said the rise in guargum prices at futures trade was mostly supported by widening of bets by participants at existing levels, driven by firm spot markets where prices were higher.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum for delivery in June reclaimed Rs 77, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 8,560 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 17,930 lots.
Guargum for most-active delivery in May too was trading higher by Rs 73, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 8,433 per quintal, with a business turnover of 38,760 lots.
