Guargum prices fell by Rs 320 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators indulged in off-loading positions amid weak cues from domestic and overseas markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum for delivery in December dropped by Rs 320, or 2 per cent, to Rs 15,650 per quintal, with an open interest of 7,732 lots.
On similar lines, prices for October contracts fell by Rs 240, or 1.51 per cent, to Rs 15,640 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 74 lots.
Marketmen said adequate stocks following persistent supplies from growing regions amidst low demand at spot markets weighed on guargum prices at futures trade here.
Besides, slackness in export demand dampened the sentiments, they said.
