Guargum prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 5,660 per quintal amid profit-booking by participants in future trading today following profit selling by traders.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guargum for delivery in the current month weakened by Rs 100, or 1.74 per cent to Rs 5,660 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 499 lots.
Also, guargum for most-active second contract February too eased by Rs 40, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 5,750 per quintal in an open interest of 31,148 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in guargum prices to profit booking by speculators on higher levels and a weak trend in the global market.
