Guargum futures up over 2 per cent

Guargum prices climbed 2.16 per cent to Rs 6,610 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators widened their positions amid a firming trend at the spot markets.
Moreover, tight supplies and higher overseas cues too supported the upside.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange platform, guargum delivery for delivery in January moved up by Rs 140, or 2.16 per cent to Rs 6,610 per quintal, with an open interest of 27,658 lots.
Guargum for delivery in far-month February next year too gained Rs 140, or 2.13 per cent to Rs 6,710 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 15,912 lots.
