Marketmen said buying at prevailing lower levels against restricted supplies and a firming trend in spot markets mainly pushed up the prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guarseed for far April contract surged by Rs 135, or 2.93 per cent, to Rs 4,745 per quintal in an open interest of 14 lots.
January contract rose by Rs 110, or 2.48 per cent, at Rs 4,545 per quintal in an open interest of 12,499 lots.
