Marketmen attributed the rise in guarseed prices at futures trading to widening of positions by participants, triggered by a firm trend at the spot markets on the back of pick-up in demand form guargum makers.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guarseed 10 mt for delivery in far-month December advanced by Rs 61 or 1.61 per cent to Rs 3,844 per quintal, having an open interest of 3,280 lots.
On a similar line, guarseed for delivery in most-active October looked up by Rs 43 or 1.16 per cent to Rs 3,757 per quintal, showing an open interest of 72,130 lots.
