According to police, house keeping staffer Bikki Das (19), belonging from Orissa, was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a medical student in her room at the guest house yesterday, who was in city to appear for medical post graduation entrance examination.
"The girl found a person beside her in the room last night as he tried to hold her down forcibly. She pushed him away and suffered a small injury in a scuffle with the accused. The boy ran away after she shouted to raise an alarm," DCP (west zone) V Satyanarayana said.
A patrolling team of Jubilee Hills police station arrested the accused and produced him before a court today, which remanded to judicial custody, police added.
