Guidelines violated at Ghazipur slaughterhouse: EDMC Mayor

East Delhi Mayor Satya Sharma today sought a report by the officials concerned on the alleged "violations" of the guidelines by the Ghazipur slaughterhouse while killing the animals.
Sharma, along with a team of East Delhi Muncipal Corporation (EDMC) officials and members of Delhi Slaughterhouse Monitoring Committee, visited the slaughterhouse and found that certain guidelines of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Slaughter House) Rules were being violated.
"We have noticed 3-4 violations such as inhuman way of neutralising the animal before butchering it and have sought a report on several aspects from the concerned officials of the salughterhouse," Sharma said.

Members of the Delhi Slaughterhouse Monitoring Committee Gauri Maulekhi and Manilal Valliyate also found "violations" at the slaughterhouse.
