Senior officials, including the managing director and joint director of the state-run Gujarat State Land Development Corporation(GSLDC), were booked after an Anti-Corruption Bureau raid on the corporation's premises yielded unaccounted cash totalling Rs 56.50 lakh, officials said today.

"A raid was conducted at the GSLDC's premises in Sector 10 of Gandhinagar yesterday night. During the raid, we found unaccounted cash of Rs 56.50 lakh from the possession of GSLDC Managing Director K S Detroja and Joint Director K C Parmar and three junior officials," said D P Chudasama, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Gujarat ACB.

He said that the ACB had received several complaints of corruption at the GSLDC after which the raid was carried out.

"These officials allegedly took bribes from farmers who applied for government grants under various schemes run by the GSLDC. There is no doubt that cash recovered during the raid was bribe money. Searches carried out today at various locations found documents related to investments and bank lockers of these five officials," Chudasama said.

A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, he said, adding that preliminary investigations have revealed that these irregularities were going on for the past two years.
