Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh hit out at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today for being a man who always believed in "splitting" things.
"Modi wants to break up the BJP. He has already broken the NDA and does not believe in having any sort of unity," the Congress General Secretary told reporters at the party's state office.
He alleged that Modi has always been known as a man who bites the hand that feeds him and that Modi had been glorified to a large extent although there was reason for him to be glorified in this way.
He claimed that the BJP had lost assembly elections in some of those states where Modi had been made the party's in-charge.
"Among the states where the BJP lost despite having Modi as in-charge was Madhya Pradesh, where the party lost to Congress in 1998," the Congress General Secretary said.
Singh said that it remains to be seen who will bite the dust in the 2014 elections.

He said that not much need be said about the change in the Congress General Secretary in-charge of Madhya Pradesh, since in his party, people merely do the work allotted to them.
Answering a question whether Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi should lead the party from the front in view of the changing political situation, Singh said that Rahul was already heading the Congress Campaign Committee for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and he is very much in the forefront.
He strongly condemned Madhya Pradesh BJP President, Narendra Singh Tomar for talking about the family history of the Leader of the Opposition Ajay Singh.
"If Tomar does not stop, we will also forced to talk about his history and from where he came into politics," Singh added.
