The incident took place in the morning in the house of one Surendrasinh Rajput, they said.
"The crude oil started gushing out of the house floor and started spreading. The pressurised crude slush broke the floor tiles and spilled inside the living room," said Kadi police inspector R R Patel who called ONGC officials and forensic experts to the spot to analyse the situation.
He said the underground pipeline could have ruptured which led to the incident.
To a query, the officer said the construction of the house near the pipeline is not illegal.
