"My government, which firmly believes in 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat' (one India, excellent India), has made efforts to keep alive the attempts of Sardar Patel for the unity of the nation," she said.
The Governor said the state government did a commendable
job in different spheres in the last 10 years.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi, also the PM nominee of BJP, has been at the helm of affairs of the state.

"In year 2000, the number of universities was 15 which has been increased up to 52, while the government colleges are increased from 20 to 71 now. State has made progress from the revenue deficit of Rs 6,732 crore in year 2001-02 to revenue surplus of Rs 4,602 crore," the Governor said.
She said the infant mortality rate in Gujarat had come down to 38 from 60 in 2001. "In year 2001-02, the school dropout rate for students in I to V was 20.50 per cent which has been decreased upto 2.07 per cent," she said.
Wishing a good future to Gujarat, she concluded, "I heartily wish that in future also, Gujarat achieves new milestones in development and directs the whole nation with the slogan 'Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas' (support of all, development for all) and provide successful leadership on the path of prosperity".
