Gujarat govt provided affordable houses to 5 lakh people: Anandiben Patel

Patel also laid foundation stones for 6 developmental projects of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation last night

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has said the state government has provided affordable houses to around five lakh people in the last two years.

Patel allocated houses to 1,092 beneficiaries of housing schemes of the Gujarat Housing Board, and also laid foundation stones for 6 developmental projects of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation here last night.

"Gujarat will lead the country to achieve the Centre's flagship initiative - 'Housing for All-2022' by providing affordable houses to the needy and poor people," she said.

"We have provided good quality affordable houses to five lakh people in the last two years.

"It is the responsibility of the state to ensure that poor should get houses at affordable rates and therefore the state government has introduced significant provisions and initiatives like 'Mukhyamantri Gruh Yojana' to achieve this target," she said.

According to the Chief Minister, Gujarat is one of the most developed states in the country and is consistently striving to achieve new benchmarks.

"The state government has taken enormous efforts to simplify the complicated procedures for maintaining land records and records of rights, through digitisation," she said.

Gujarat Finance Minister Saurabh Patel, Gujarat Housing Board chairman Vivek Bhat, MP Ranjanben Bhatt were also present on the occasion.
