A passenger of an Air India flightfrom Sharjah was arrested at Surat airport in Gujarat for allegedly smuggling half a kilo of gold worth Rs 20 lakh, an official said on Wednesday.Ganesh Valodra, who hails from Mumbai, was arrested after customs officials discovered 500 gm of gold foils concealed in his luggage on Tuesday, he said.The seized gold was worth around Rs 20 lakh, he added."On screening his baggage, officials discovered that the accused had concealed gold foils in the cover of his suitcases," he said.Valodra has been booked for gold smuggling, he added.
