Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel today stressed on the need for teachers to establish a "connect" with their students.
"Teachers should teach good values to students and for that they have to establish a connect with their students with warmth and love," Patel said while inaugurating a one-week workshop for 1.95 lakh primary school teachers here.
She addressed the teachers from Swarnim Sankul (Chief Minister's Office) through a satellite connectivity system provided by the Bhaskaracharya Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG).
Patel said that students would never forget teachers who established connectivity with them.
"While fulfilling their responsibility, if teachers understand the value of the future of each and every student, then every school will attain 'A Grade' status," Patel said.
She also stressed on the need for cleanliness campaigns in schools and said, "We will observe the 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi in 2019 and celebrate it by initiating a cleanliness campaign at our schools".
The Gujarat chief minister, who began her career as a school teacher, appealed for innovative ideas in teaching.
"A teacher should adopt innovative ideas and satisfy the curiosity of students. They should be encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities," she said.
