Gujarat on Monday reported 56 new COVID-19 cases, taking the overall tally so far to 572, a senior Health department official said.
Of the 56 cases, 38 people were found positive for coronavirus in Ahmedabad, followed by Vadodara (6), Surat (5), Bharuch (3), Banaskantha (2), and Anand and Panchmahal one each, said Principal Secretary (Health) Jayanti Ravi.
Of the 38 cases in Ahmedabad, two cases were reported from new areas of Odhav and Nava Naroda, while other cases are from the known hotspots, she said.
A total of seven persons recovered from COVID-19 on Monday, taking their total number to 54.
The total death toll in the state stands at 26.
