Gujarat: Five killed as car rams into stationary truck

Five youths were killed and six injured when the car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary truck on Ahmedabad-Kheda highway in Anand district today, police said.
"Five youths were killed on the spot while six others sustained critical injuries when their Xylo car rammed into a stationary truck on the highway near Motipura village in Petlad tehsil," Raman Patel, the police station officer of nearby Koth village.
The deceased were identified as Jay (22), Mitul (20), Ajay (18), Ravi (19) and Neel (18), all of whom were returning from Swaminarayan temple in Gadhda tehsil in Bhavnagar district to Petlad.
The six injured, including the driver Dinesh Talpada, were rushed to the nearest government hospital.
The victims hailed from Petlad tehsil and studied at a college at Anand.
A case of rash-driving was registered against Talpada, police said.
