From tomorrow onwards, each LED bulb, presently sold at Rs 80 to Rs 85, will be sold at Rs 70 to Rs 75, state Energy Minister Saurabh Patel told reporters here.
At present, people are charged Rs 80 if they make cash purchase and Rs 85 if they buy through instalments.
According to Patel, the scheme has met with tremendous success, as over 63 lakh LED bulbs are already sold within one month of launching the scheme.
The scheme of distributing LED bulbs at subsidised rates was launched in Gujarat by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on May 26.
Under this scheme, each household is eligible to get a maximum of 10 bulbs.
"The reduction in price is only applicable to domestic users. There is no change in price for industrial and commercial users," he clarified.
