Gujarat govt transfers 38 IPS, SPS officers

In a major reshuffle, the Gujarat government today transferred 38 Superintendent of Police (SP) rank officers, 31 of them from IPS cadre, including SP of Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) Himanshu Shukla.
Among those transferred is N K Amin, an accused in the Ishrat Jahan and Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter cases, who has been posted as SP of Mahisagar district.
A notification regarding the transfers was issued by the State Home department past midnight. Of the total 38 officers shifted, 31 belong to IPS cadre while seven are State Police Service (SPS) officers.
Shukla is now the Bharuch district SP. He will be replaced by SP of Arvalli district Mayur Chavda, who belongs to SPS.

Amin, an SPS officer, currently serving as the SP in State Crime Record Bureau (SCRB) in Gandhinagar, has been appointed as the SP of Mahisagar district.
A special CBI court in May last year granted him regular bail in Ishrat Jahan encounter case on health grounds. He had earlier been granted bail in Sohrabuddin case.

He was in June last reinstated as the SP in SCRB after the Gujarat government had revoked his suspension.
Bharuch SP Shobha Bhutda has been transferred as the Commandant State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Group 17 in Chela, Jamnagar.
Archana Shivhare, serving as Commandant of SRPF Group-8 in Gondal, is now posted as the SP in CID (Crime), Gandhinagar. She has been replaced by Gautam Parmar, serving as DCP of Zone-2 in Vadodara.

S K Gadhvi, SP of Botad district has been transferred and appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone-4, Ahmedabad. Assistant SP of Surat district Saroj Kumari will replace Gadhvi.
Rajkot District SP Gagandeep Gambhir has been appointed as the DCP (Zone-3) of Surat city. She is replaced by Amreli SP Antrip Sood.
Kheda SP Sachin Badshah is now appointed as the SP of Anti Economic Offense Cell in Gandhinagar. Badshah is replaced by Manindarsingh Pawar, currently serving as the SP of CM and VIP Security Division in Gandhinagar.
Panchmahal SP Raghavendra Vatsa has been appointed as the DCP, Zone-3, Ahmedabad. Nilesh Jajadia, SP in state CID (Crime), Gandhinagar, is now the SP of Junagadh.

Banaskantha SP Chirag Koradia, replaced by Narmada
district SP Neeraj Badgujar, has been given the charge of CM and VIP security.
DCP of Zone-2 in Ahmedabad Mahendra Bagaria is the new SP of Narmada. Makrand Chauhan, DCP of Zone-3 in Surat, has been appointed as Kutch (West) SP.
R S Bhagora, SP in Ahmedabad Central Prison, has been shifted to Vadodara as DCP of Zone-3 and replaced by SP in Intelligence Bureau (IB) Sunil Joshi.
RJ Pargi, serving as the Commandant of SRPF, Group-15 in Mehsana ONGC complex, is now the SP of Devbhoomi-Dwarka district.
Commandant of SRPF Group-1 in Vadodara Manoj Ninama is the new SP of Dahod. R F Sangada, SP in Vadodara Central Prison, has been transferred and appointed as the SP of Surendranagar district.

B R Pandor, DCP of Zone-3 in Ahmedabad, has been appointed as the Commandant of SRPF, Group-14 in Valsad.
Surendranagar SP R V Asari is now the Panchmahal SP. K N Damor, DCP of Zone-1 in Surat city, has been appointed as the new SP of Arvalli. P V Rathod, SP of Western Railway in Vadodara, has been shifted as Zone-2 DCP in Surat.
Assistant SP of Banaskantha Chaitanya Mandlik has been shifted as the SP of Mehsana. As per the notification, current SP of Mehsana J R Mothalia along with three other IPS officers have not been given any posting yet.

The other three kept on waiting list include Zone-2 DCP of Surat S K Dave, Kutch (West), SP D N Patel and SP of Dahod district M A Chavda.
