Gujarat MLA's daughter-in-law found hanging

The 21-year-old daughter-in-law of Shamjibhai Chauhan, BJP MLA in Gujarat, was today founded hanging from the ceiling of a room in her house here, police said.
"Geeta Chauhan was found hanging from the ceiling of a room locked from inside at her house in Ram Park area on Kalavad Road when her husband and mother-in-law opened the door" Kalavad Road police sub inspector N B Bhardava, who is investigating the case, said.
Geeta was the daughter-in-law of Shamjibhai Chauhan, MLA from Chotila Assembly constituency in Surendranagar district, he said.
Shamjibhai is also the Parliamentary Secretary for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department in the state.

"According to the deceased's mother-in-law Labhuben's statement, Geeta had married with her son Vishwajeet around 14 months back and was quite happy with their marriage life," he said, adding no suicide note was found.
Police said her body has been sent for post mortem and investigations are underway.
