Gunmen kill 3 in Pakistan's Quetta

At least three persons, including two minority Shia Muslims, were killed and six others injured in separate firing attacks in Pakistan's southern Baluchistan province today in what appeared to be sectarian violence.
The incidents happened in the provincial capital Quetta, police said.
Two men belonging to the ethnic Hazara community, who profess Shia faith, were killed when armed men targeted them on the Jinnah Road. Police said four persons, including two women, were also injured in the attack.
The victims were admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) here. The attackers, however, escaped after the attack.
The incident came after gunmen injured two persons on the same road in a separate firing incident.

Elsewhere, one person was killed when militants attacked a shop on Shahrah-i-Iqbal and escaped.

Hazara community staged a protest outside the office of Baluchistan Inspector General Police.
Over the past decade, Pakistan has experienced an increasing number of sectarian attacks.
The Shias, who comprise about 20 per cent of the population, are often targeted by militants from extremist Sunni groups who consider them as heretics.
