Gur ends flat in Delhi; mixed in Muzaffarnagar, Muradnagar

Steady conditions persisted at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today with prices moving in a narrow range on little doing, settled at the previous levels.
On the other hand, a mixed trend emerged at Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar, with gur prices rising at Muzaffarnagar following tight supplies, while declined in Muradnagar on fresh arrivals from manufacturing belts.
Marketmen said besides steady trend at the Delhi market, thin arrivals from manufacturing belts amid speculative buying by stockists and retailers, mainly pushed up gur prices in Muzaffarnagar.
On the other hand, Muradnagar gur mandi showed a fall in gur pedi prices due to withdrawal of support on higher levels amid increased arrivals.
In Muzaffarnagar, gur Raskat prices hardened by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 3,000-3,050 per quintal on strong beer makers demand.
Prices of gur Chakku also enquired higher by Rs 100 to end at Rs 3,300-3,400 per quintal.

At Muradnagar, gur Pedi prices dropped by Rs 200 to close at Rs 3,300-3,500 per quintal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,600-3,700, pedi Rs 3,800-4000, dhayya Rs 4,000-4,100 and shakkar Rs 4,100-4,200.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 3,000-3,050, chakku Rs 3,300-3,400, khurpa Rs 2,925-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,000-3,050.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,300-3,400 and dhayya Rs 3,150-3,175.
