Marketmen said increased demand from local parties and stockists against limited arrivals from producing regions mainly led to rise in gur pedi prices.
At Delhi, gur pedi rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2,750-2,850 per quintal.
Gur pedi in Muradnagar, also traded higher by Rs 100 to Rs 2,400-2,475 per quintal.
The following are today's quotations per quintal:
Gur chakku 2,700-2,800, pedi 2,750-2,850, dhayya 2,900-3,000 and shakkar 2,900-3,000.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,300-2,350, chakku 2,550-2,650, khurpa 2,450-2,500 and Ladoo 2,450-2,550.
