Gur prices drop on ample stock position

Gur (Jaggery) prices tumbled by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following adequate stock position on constant supplies and reduced offtake.
Muzaffarnagar gur market also showed a drop of Rs 200 per quintal on bumper stocks amid tepid demand.
Marketmen said mounting stock in the market on increased supplies from manufacturing belts and reduced offtake led to fall in gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Chakku, Pedi and Dhayya prices settled lower by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 2,800-2,900, Rs 3,000- 3,100 and Rs 3,100-3,200 per quintal.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku prices drifted lower from Rs 2,625-2,950 to settle at Rs 2,550-2,750 per quintal.
Laddoo prices also declined by Rs 50 to conclude at Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,400-2,450, chakku Rs 2,550- 2,750, khurpa Rs 2,600-2,650 and Ladoo Rs 2,800-2,900.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,650-2750 and dhayya Rs 2,800-2,850.
