Gur prices end higher on tight supply, rise in demand

Gur prices spurted by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following negligible arrivals amid pick up in demand.
A similar trend also emerged at Muradnagar gur markets with prices rising by Rs 50 per quintal on better offtake.
Marketmen said fall in arrivals due to adverse weather conditions at manufacturing belts amid rise in stockists and retailers demand, mainly attributed rise in gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Chakku and Shakkar prices surged by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 2,800-2,900 and Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal.
Also, gur Pedi prices also gained Rs 50 to Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal.
At Muradnagar, gur Dhayya remained in keen demand and prices improved by Rs 50 to Rs 2,450-2,550 per quintal.
