Gur prices fall on fresh supply, weak demand

Weak trend was witnessed in wholsale jaggery market at the national capital today due to fresh supply amid slackness in demand.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market also revealed losses up to Rs 150 per quintal on fresh supply from manufacturing areas.
Marketmen said heavy arrivals in the markets amid slackness in demand, mainly pulled down gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Pedi prices slipped by Rs 100 to Rs 2,700- 2,800 per quintal.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku tumbled from Rs 2,400-2,650 to end at Rs 2,400-2,600 per quintal, while ladoo lost Rs 100 at Rs 2,450-2,550 per quintal.
Gur Kurpa prices also eased by Rs 50 at Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal.
Turning to Muradnagar, prices of gur Pedi and Dhayya fell from Rs 2,400-2,450 and Rs 2,450-2,500 to Rs 2,300-2,375 and Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal, respectively.

Gur chakku 2,700-2,800, pedi 2,700-2,800, dhayya 2,900- 3,000 and shakkar 3,000-3,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,300-2,350, chakku 2,400-2,600, khurpa 2,450-2,500 and Ladoo 2,450-2,550.
Muradnagar: Pedi 2,300-2,375 and dhayya 2,400-2,450.
