Gur prices dropped by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market here today following increased stocks position and limited buying by stockists and bulk consumers.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also followed suit and prices declined up to Rs 50 per quintal on slackness in demand amid mounting of stocks.
Marketmen said surplus stocks position in the market on relentless supplies from manufacturing belts against absence of necessary buying support dragged down gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Chakku and Pedi prices slumped by Rs 100 each to end at Rs 2,700-2,800 and Rs 2,600-2,700 per quintal.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Raskat prices receded by Rs 50 to conclude at Rs 2,100-2,150 per quintal on weak demand from beer makers.
Gur Chakku prices also slipped from Rs 2,425-2,625 to end at Rs 2,400-2,600 per quintal.
