Gur prices spurted by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following fresh buying by stockists and retailers amid negligible arrivals.
Prices at Muradnagar gur market also rose by Rs 100 per quintal on increased demand from stockists and retailers amid paucity of stocks.
Marketmen said scarcity of stocks due to negligible supplies from manufacturing belts, powered by frantic buying by stockists and retailers revealed the upsurge in gur prices in Delhi and Muradnagar.
In Delhi, gur Pedi prices rose by Rs 100 to end at Rs 2,600-2,700 per quintal.
Prices of gur Chakku also gained by Rs 50 to end at Rs 2,600-2,700 per quintal.
At Muradnagar, gur Pedi enquired higher from Rs 2,175-2,300 to Rs 2,2450-2,400, showing a rise up to Rs 100 per quintal.
Gur Dhayya prices also went up by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 2,300-2,350 per quintal.
