Gur prices improve on strong demand

Gur pedi prices soared by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today following brisk buying by stockists and retailers for festival season.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also depicted a higher trend on emergence of buying by stockists and retailers.
Marketmen said improved demand from stockists and retailers for the ongoing festive season mainly attributed the rise in gur prices.
In delhi, gur pedi prices shot up by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 3,800-3,900 per quintal.
At Muradnagar, gur pedi and Dhayya prices settled higher at Rs 3,450-3,525 and Rs 3,500-3,550 instead of Rs 3,250-3,350 and Rs 3,400-3,450, showing a rise up to Rs 200 per quintal.
Coming to Muzaffarnagar, gur chakku, Khurpa and Laddoo prices traded higher at Rs 3,700-3,750, Rs 3,400-3,450 and Rs 3,700-3.750 per quintal.

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,450-3,525 and dhayya Rs 3,500-3,550.
