Gur prices up in Delhi, Muzaffarnagar on paucity of stocks

Gur Dhayya prices hardened by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today following paucity of stocks.
Muzaffarnagar gur market also witnessed a sharp rise up to Rs 220 per quintal on speculative buying, sparked by scarcity of stocks.
Marketmen said thin ready stocks on negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts following rising mercury, sparked by speculative buying by stockists and retailers, mainly buoyed gur prices in Delhi and Muzaffarnagar.
In Delhi, gur Dhayya prices hardened by Rs 100 to end at Rs 3,400-3,500 per quintal.
At Muzaffarnagar, the biggest rise of Rs 220 per quintal showed in gur Chakku prices at Rs 2,750-3,020 as compared to overnight close of Rs 2,550-2,800.
Gur Khurpa and Laddoo prices also surged by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 2,650-2,700 and Rs 2,850-2,950 per quintal, respectively.

Gur chakku Rs 3,100-3,200, pedi Rs 3,100-3,200, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500 and shakkar Rs 3,500-3,600.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,550-2,600, chakku Rs 2,750-3,020, khurpa Rs 2,650-2,700 and Ladoo Rs 2,850-2,950.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,700-2,750 and dhayya Rs 2,800-2,850.
