Gur prices up on tight supply, seasonal demand

Gur prices surged by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following tight supplies amid emergence of seasonal demand.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also witnessed a rise of Rs 50 per quintal on thin arrivals.
Marketmen attributed rise in gur prices to seasonal demand and restricted arrivals from manufacturing belts.
In Delhi, gur Chakku, pedi, Dhayya and Shakkar prices rose by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 2,600-2,700, Rs 2,700-2,800, Rs 2,900-3,000 and Rs 3,000-3,100 per quintal respectively.
At Muradnagar, gur pedi and dhayya quoted higher by Rs 50 each at Rs 2,350-2,400 and Rs 2,400-2,450 per quintal.
Turning to Muzaffarnagar, there also prices of gur raskat shot up by Rs 50 at Rs 2,300-2,350 per quintal on strong demand from beer makers.
