Gur tumbles on adequate stocks, selective buying

Gur prices plunged by Rs 200 per quintal in the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market today on adequate stocks following heavy arrivals against limited buying by stockists.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also depicted a weak trend and prices fell up to Rs 200 per quintal.
Marketmen said heavy stocks position following arrivals of new gur in the market against scattered buying by stockists and retailers mainly put pressure on gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Chakku, Dhayya and Pedi prices plummeted by Rs 200 each to settle at Rs 2,500-2,600, Rs 2,700-2,800 and Rs 2,500-2,600 per quintal, while shakkar prices declined by Rs 100 at Rs 2,900-3,000 per quintal.
At Muradnagar, gur dhayya prices dropped the most by Rs 200 at Rs 2,250-2,300, while pedi fell by Rs 100 at Rs 2,200-2,275 per quintal.
At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku traded lower by Rs 200 at Rs 2,200-2,450 per quintal.

Meanwhile, ladoo drifted by Rs 100 at Rs 2,200-2,350 and Kurpa lost Rs 50 at Rs 2,200-2,300 per quintal.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 2,500-2,600, pedi Rs 2,500-2,600, dhayya Rs 2,700-2,800 and shakkar Rs 2,900-3,000.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,400-2,500, chakku Rs 2,200-2,450, khurpa Rs 2,200-2,300 and Ladoo Rs 2,200-2,350.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,200-2,275 and dhayya Rs 2,250-2,300.
