Select gur prices fell by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today owing to slackened demand from local parties and stockists against sufficient stocks.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also showed a weak trend.
Traders said besides low demand from local parties and stockists, increased supplies from producing areas mainly led to decline in select gur prices.
In Delhi, gur shakkar fell by Rs 100 to Rs 2,900-3,000 per quintal.
In Muzzafarnagar, gur laddo weakened to Rs 2,400-2,550 from previous level of Rs 2,500-2,550 per quintal.
In line with overall trend, gur pedi in Muradnagar too finished lower at Rs 2,300-2,350 from previous close of Rs 2,350-2,400 per quintal.
