In a bid to check disaster preparedness, the Gurgaon District Administration has planned a survey of high-rise buildings with more than five floors.
Under this project, the main approach and alternate roads to such buildings would be properly displayed on the map. This is to ensure that immediate relief could be provided in case of any eventuality, a District Administration spokesman said today.
The District Town and Country Planner has been directed to display such buildings and approach and alternate roads adjacent to these on the district development plan, he said.
He said that inputs on safety policy would also be sought from the resident welfare associations of such buildings, so that they could be used by the authorities in times of need.
Various state departments including the Municipal Corporation, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) have been asked to send lists of such buildings to the office of District Town and Country Planner.
The district administration has set January 10 as the deadline for entire exercise.
