Excise Department and Gurgaon police today raided a pub at Grand Mall on MG Road following a tip-off that liquor was regularly served there to underage customers.
Thirty underage youths, including 5 girls, who had assembled there for a birthday party, were detained.
"We have recorded the statements of underage customers and served a challan to pub management," Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner Aruna Singh said.
When they reached the pub, the officials found that it was locked from inside. When the employees opened the door, 30 youths were found in an inebriated condition, ACP Hawa Singh, spokesperson of Gurgaon police, said.
The officials, however, allowed the customers to go after a warning.
