Milad-un-nabi is being celebrated tomorrow in Tamil Nadu.
In a Raj Bhavan statement, Rosaiah extended his 'heartiest' greetings and best wishes to 'all my Muslim brethren.'
"Let us on the Birthday of Prophet Muhammad rededicate ourselves to lead a pure and virtuous life; restrain from evil and promote charity, compassion, unity and harmony," he said.
In her greetings, Jayalalithaa said that Prophet Muhammed had preached many virtuous qualities including brotherhood and charity.
The Chief Minister recalled her government's various pro-Muslim initiatives like providing free rice to mosques during Ramadan to prepare gruel, increasing the annual subusidty to Tamil Nadu Waqf Board and State Hajj Services Committee besides providing Rs 2.40 crore towards renovation of mosques and dargahs.
