Guv Mridula Sinha declares 2016 as year of cleanliness for Goa
Press Trust of India Panaji In an appeal to the people of Goa to continue making their contributions to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Governor Mridula Sinha today on New Year's eve declared 2016 as the year of cleanliness for Goa and said that its success was in the interest of the state and the nation.
Sinha, a nominee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for SBA, has declared 2016, as the year of cleanliness for Goa, as per a release issued by Raj Bhavan here.
"The objective of which is to enhance awareness about the relevance and importance of cleanliness among the people and to evoke positive response and contribution from them.
"The Governor has reiterated her view that cleanliness is a part of culture; a habit formation. Total cleanliness at all places will be in the best interest of the cultural image and glory of the State and the nation and for a healthy and happy life for all," the release said.
