Guv to review return of land under army's occupation in JK
Press Trust of India Jammu Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra would soon be reviewing the return of certain land now held by the army in the state.
The Governor, who recently wrote to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar about enhancement in rental compensation for lands under army's occupation, would soon be reviewing the return of certain pockets of land held by the army, as agreed to in the Army-Civil Coordination Committee, a Raj Bhawan spokesman said.
Vohra held a meeting to review various important matters with Chief Secretary B R Sharma, Director General of Police K Rajendra Kumar and Principal Secretary, Home R K Goyal.
Besides reviewing the internal security situation in the state, the Governor also discussed several matters, including increase in the honorarium of SPOs, cases pending under SRO-43 about police personnel killed in operations, recruitment schedules for recently-sanctioned IR Battalions, notification of field firing ranges etc, he said.
