Guyana's main opposition parties have filed a no-confidence motion against the administration of President Donald Ramotar, hoping to force an early election.
Opposition legislators yesterday accused the leadership of the South American country of rampant corruption, mismanagement and lack of transparency.
The opposition parties have a single-seat majority in Parliament and are expected to vote on the measure when legislators reconvene in early October after a two-month break.
General elections are scheduled for 2016, but if the no-confidence motion passes, an early election would have to be held within 90 days.
