Goa Vikas Party (GVP) today warned of
strict action against its MLA Caetano Silva if he worked against the party's official candidate in the upcoming zila parishad polls.
"The party has taken note of Silva's anti-party activities and indiscipline. GVP will soon meet to take decision on this," party's General Secretary Lyndon Monteiro said in a statement.
GVP has a seat-sharing alliance with BJP and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) for the upcoming ZP polls.
The party is upset with Silva over his support to an independent candidate and for opposing the alliance candidate.
"In case Silva doesn't support the party's alliance he is free to leave," he said.
The ZP polls are scheduled on March 18. GVP is contesting five out of 50 seats.
