While Hafeez replaced Misbah as the national T20 captain last year in May, Misbah continued to remain Pakistan's Test and one-day captain.
Recently, a controversy was ignited by the former Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ijaz Butt who claimed that Hafeez had formed a nexus with head coach Dav Whatmore in the team and they were pressurising Misbah and trying to oust him from the team.
But Hafeez was all praise for Misbah, saying it had been an honour playing under him.
The all-rounder scored a match winning half-century to lead the Sui Northern Gas team into the final of the President's Cup one-day tournament.

Hafeez said that no one had any problems with Misbah as he had shown himself to be a very honest, fair and committed leader.
He made it clear that he had not found anyone as passionate and dedicated for cricket as Misbah.
Hafeez noted that it was a credit to Misbah the way he had adopted a positive approach after Pakistan lost the Test series in South Africa.
"He did well in the one-day series in SA and than also by winning the national T20 super eights title for Faisalabad Wolves," he added.
