The first phase of the proposed Haj operations from the Mangalore International Airport will start from August 27 and end on September 1, this year.
As per the schedule, Air India Express flights will begin operations from Mangalore to Madinah daily at 3.15 pm.
The second phase of operations will begin on October 10 and conclude on October 14. Arrival time of phase II flights from Madinah to Mangalore airport would be 1.00 pm.
Mangalore International Airport director J T Radhakrishna said the added advantage for Haj pilgrims this year was that A-320 aircraft would be used in the direct flight to Madinah and passengers need not change aircraft like in the previous year where they had to go to Madinah via Calicut.
