HAL Heritage Center & Aerospace Museum will now be counted as one of Karnataka's tourism spots and therefore will stand as tourist landmark in Bengaluru, R V Deshpande, state's Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries and Tourism was quoted as saying by the company in a release.
Deshpande made the announcement at an event where Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister of State for Defence, opened HAL's upgraded Heritage Center and unveiled HAL Platinum Jubilee Plaque.
He also digitally inaugurated HAL's upgraded Heritage Centers and Aerospace Museum at Koraput (Odisha), Korwa (UP) and Nashik (Maharashtra).
HAL CMD T Suvarna Raju said more airplane models would be added to the museum which has seen renovation.
Situated at Old HAL Airport Road in the city, the first of its kind aero-museum was established in 2001 and is spread over 10 acres.
The museum houses rare photos from 1940s, aircraft models that take the visitors on an exciting journey through the heritage of aerospace & aviation industry in India, HAL said.
